Beef claim two player of the week awards

Dreko Statham and Paul Ortiz claimed player of the week awards for their week 13 performance in the Beef's 44-15 win over Sioux City.

Statham, named Defensive Player of the Week, made seven tackles and had one interception in the win to keep the Beef a perfect 10-0.  The interception for the league leader was his 11th of the season.  Statham is now tied with Dontae Jones (2003) for the most interceptions in a season by a Beef player. 

Ortiz was named Special Teams player of the week for the third time this season.  He previously won in week 5 and 7. Ortiz was 1-2 in field goals, making a 44 yard attempt.  He also went a perfect 5 for 5 in extra points.  On the season, Ortiz has made 9 of 17 field goals and 29 of 35 extra points.

The Beef have a bye this week and will host the semi-finals vs the lowest remaining seed on June 10th at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
