THE Omaha Beef Pummel the Power 71-6

OMAHA, Neb. – THE Omaha Beef defeated the Texas Power 71-6 on Friday night in front of over 3,400 rocking fans! Led by the Beef’s defense with five turnovers. Including three interceptions, and two fumbles recoveries.

Defensive backs Jevin Colbert and Tiyun Avery both had interceptions returned for touchdowns. Colbert’s was returned for 15-yards with 7:13 remaining in the 2nd quarter. Avery’s was returned for 3-yards with 5:04 remaining in the 3rd quarter. Defensive lineman Brandon Jenkins forced a fumble in the end zone with Karsman Johnson recovering for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter.

Quarterback Anthony Iannotti threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns, completing 17-18 passes. Wide receiver Daniel McKinney caught seven passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns were 45-yards for McKinney. Chris Perry added two more receiving touchdowns for the Beef.

Running back Jeffrey Mack led the Beef in rushing with 58 yards and two touchdowns. Mack’s longest run was 10-yards.

Omaha finished with 295 total yards on 15 minutes of possession. Texas finished with -7 total yards on 39 minutes of possession.

The Omaha Beef will kick off the CIF season facing the Salina Liberty in Omaha next Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Ralston Arena.
