Omaha Beef rally past Sioux City to earn spot in CIF championship game


After the Bandits took a 42-35 lead with 9:30 remaining, Iannotti found Ray on a wheel route for a touchdown to tie the score.

The Beef trailed the Bandits 45-42 when Anthony Iannotti connected with Skyler Scott for a touchdown with 11 seconds remaining to give Omaha its first lead since late in the first quarter

Chris Perry returned an interception for a touchdown with one second remaining Saturday night to preserve Omaha’s 55-45 victory over Sioux City in the Champions Indoor Football semifinals.


With the victory, the Beef advanced to the CIF Champions Bowl, where they will face the winner of Monday’s other semifinal between Texas and Amarillo.

Iannotti threw for 155 yards and four touchdown passes Saturday night. Jon Ray caught 1 of those 4 touchdown passes and Skyler Scott caught the other 3 Saturday night. Travis Ribbing, Jon Ray and Andrew King all rushed for a touchdown with Ribbing leading the way with 60 yards on the ground.
