JayShawn Washington named Co-Defensive player of the week

For the third time this season JayShawn Washington has been named Champions Indoor Football Defensive player of the week. Washington had seven tackles, 1.5 sacks, one block kick, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries that he returned for touchdowns in Omaha's 45-12 victory over the Billings Outlaws.  Washington shared the week 8 honors with Sioux City's Claude Davis who broke the single game record with four sacks.

Washington previously won the award for his week 3 and week 6 performances.  On the 2023 season JayShawn has 32 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one block kick, and 3 fumble recoveries that have been returned for touchdowns.  He and his teammates take on the Rapid City Marshals this Saturday at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.  

The Beef (6-0) currently have the best defense in the CIF as they allow only 21.3 points per game and 130.2 yards per game.
